From 28 May to 4 June 2025, as part of Work Package 2, “Strengthening Internationalisation Strategies”, the SALDAE project organised three webinars to present European experiences with internationalisation strategies to the partners involved in defining cooperation strategies and international outreach policies, as well as those engaged in developing these strategies and the action plan for their implementation.
Led by the University of Granada, Paris 8, and UNIMED, the three webinars offered a rich and concrete overview of internationalisation practices implemented in the partner European universities (University of Granada and Paris 8) and within the UNIMED network. They also provided a space for dialogue between Algerian partners and their European counterparts on methodologies to adopt and best practices to prioritise in developing internationalisation strategies.
The first webinar laid the conceptual and strategic foundations of internationalisation, highlighting institutional governance, steering mechanisms, and the diversity of actors involved in these processes. It established the basis for an integrated approach adapted to local realities.
The second webinar highlighted three key areas: mobility programmes, international networks, and the internationalisation of research. It illustrated the interconnection between mobility, cooperation, and shared scientific production.
Finally, the third webinar explored two major drivers: internationalisation at home, conceived as an inclusive policy open to all, and European university alliances, seen as vectors of profound and sustainable transformation.
Taken together, these webinars highlighted common challenges (funding, coordination, inclusion), but above all, the innovative solutions, institutional commitments, and inspiring perspectives for Algerian universities involved in the SALDAE project.
